ADVICE & SUPPORT SERVICES

CHAS @ St Vincent's is a Community Support Project which is a part of the St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) whose aim is to help people affected by poverty.

We provide Advice, Support and Learning, as well as a Community Shop and Furniture Depot which is here to serve local people from all backgrounds. All of the Advice & Support Services we provide are FREE, INDEPENDENT & IMPARTIAL.

Bradford South Advice Service

At CHAS @ St Vincent's we have an have an experienced team of Advisers on hand and ready to help the residents of the South Bradford Parliamentary Constituency with their Benefit, Debt, Housing and Immigration Issues.

The Advice Service is FREE, INDEPENDENT & IMPARTIAL.

We help with a range of issues such as Benefits including:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Benefit Appeal Support
  • Carers Allowance
  • Child Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance (Contribution Based)
  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance (Contribution Based)
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Universal Credit (Income Based)
  • Working & Child Tax Credit

We also offer Debt Advice, Housing Advice & Support, Immigration Advice & Support (OISC Level 1 Asylum & Immigration) and help with other services such as Bradford Council's Assisted Purchase Scheme, Food Parcels, Fuel Top Up's and Fuel Debt Advice & Support.

Our Services are open to all the residents of the South Bradford Parliamentary Constituency and we can see Clients through drop-in sessions or by appointment at a number of locations throughout the South Bradford area.

We have drop-in sessions at the following venues across South Bradford:

  • The Bedale Centre in Buttershaw every Tuesday between 1.00pm & 3.30pm
  • Great Horton Village Hall every Friday between 10.30am & 1.00pm
  • The Hub in Wyke Village every Wednesday between 9.30am & 10.30am
  • The Life Centre in Bierley every Thursday between 9.30am & 10.30am
  • The Salvation Army in Tong every Tuesday between 9.30am & 11.00am (Term Time Only)
  • The Sandale Centre in Woodside every Thursday between 9.30am & 12.30pm
  • St John's Church in Great Horton every Wednesday between 11.00am & 1.00pm
  • St Paul's Church in Wibsey every other Wednesday between 10.45am & 12.30pm

We have appointment sessions at the following venues across South Bradford:

  • The Hub in Wyke Village

  • Willows Medical Practice in Queensbury

Appointments are also available in Wibsey Medical Practice for patients of Wibsey Medical Practice only.

Please note, we do not offer a home visit service.

Legal Advice Drop-In

As well as the Bradford South Advice Service we also hold a FREE Legal Advice Drop-In in association with the University of Bradford School of Law every Wednesday between 1.00pm & 3.00pm at our Allenby House base in BD3.

The Legal Advice Drop-In is open to anyone and provides free legal advice on Family Law, Housing and other disputes.

Migrant Support Drop-In

We also offer a FREE Migrant Support Drop-In in association with the University of Bradford School of Law every Tuesday afternoon at 1.00pm in our Allenby House base in BD3.

The Drop-In is open to all vulnerable Migrants and provides Immigration Advice and Guidance for Refugees, Asylum Seekers and other Migrants, as well as help and support with Employment, Housing and Welfare, ESOL and Further Education and Training.

Work Club

In addition to this we also hold a FREE Work Club in association with the Education Development Trust every Wednesday between 1.00pm & 3.00pm at our Allenby House base in BD3.

The Work Club is open to anyone and provides Careers Advice, support with CV's and help with Interview Skills and Job Searches.
