COMMUNITY LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

Working with a team of Volunteers we provide a Community Learning Programme to help people with basic skills to increase social inclusion and active citizenship.

At CHAS @ St Vincent's we provide a range of free CERTA approved classes to help with Literacy, IT Skills and Employment in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, as well as a weekly Migrant Support Drop-In and Work Club.

"The atmosphere here is so nice and everybody is so friendly. I enjoy coming here." (Student)

We provide a number of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, as well as IT Skills classes and much, much more. Most of our classes are held at our Allenby House base in BD3 and at a few other locations within the BD3 area during term time. We offer the following classes and all of our classes are FREE and open to anyone...

  • ESOL Pre-Entry
  • ESOL Levels 1 to 3
  • IT Skills
  • Life in the UK Preparation
  • Well Bring Group
  • Women's ESOL Group

Migrant Support Drop-In

As well as our Education Programme we also offer a FREE Migrant Support Drop-In in association with the University of Bradford Law Department every Tuesday afternoon at 1.00pm in our Allenby House base in BD3.

The Drop-In is open to anyone and provides Immigration Advice and Guidance for Refugees, Asylum Seekers and other Migrants, as well as help and support with Employment, Housing and Welfare, ESOL and Further Education and Training.

Work Club

In addition to this we also hold a FREE Work Club in association with Aspire iGen every Wednesday between 1.00pm & 3.00pm at our Allenby House base in BD3.

The Work Club is open to anyone and provides Careers Advice, support with CV's and help with Interview Skills and Job Searches.
